TGMA 27: Kojo Blak shines with “Excellent” as he wins two awards on breakthrough night
Ghanaian artiste Kojo Blak has made a remarkable impact at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, as his breakout single “Excellent” earned him two major honours—Best New Artiste and Best Afrobeats/Afropop Song.
In what marked his first appearance on the TGMA stage, Kojo Blak delivered an impressive debut performance in the awards scheme, walking away with significant recognition and firmly announcing his arrival on Ghana’s mainstream music scene.
In the competitive Best New Artiste category, he edged out strong contenders including Gona Boy, Lalid, and Adom Kiki, all of whom had notable contributions within the year under review. The category, often described as one of the most prestigious for emerging talents, highlights the most promising new voices in the industry.
Overall, Kojo Blak earned three nominations at TGMA 27. Although he missed out on the Most Popular Song of the Year award, which went to Medikal for “Shoulder,” his presence remained one of the most talked-about newcomer stories of the night.
