The Minister of Education Commissions NTC Office Complexes in Kumasi and Tamale
The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, on Monday, May 11, 2026, commissioned newly completed office complexes for the National Teaching Council (NTC) in Kumasi and Tamale as part of efforts to strengthen teacher regulation and enhance educational administration across the country.
The commissioning ceremonies brought together officials from the Ministry of Education, the Northern Regional Coordinating Council, the Ghana Education Service, teacher unions, the clergy, traditional leaders, education stakeholders, and staff of the Council.
Addressing participants at the events, the Minister described the new facilities as a significant milestone in the government’s commitment to improving the operations of the Council and delivering efficient services to teachers nationwide.
He explained that the decentralisation of the Council’s activities requires modern office infrastructure to effectively manage teacher licensing, registration, professional development, and disciplinary processes.
Hon. Haruna Iddrisu also commended the leadership and staff of the National Teaching Council for their dedication to promoting professionalism and maintaining standards within the teaching profession.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to investing in education and teacher development to ensure quality learning outcomes for Ghanaian children.
The Chairman of the Governing Board of the Council, Mr. Kwami Alorvi, together with regional education stakeholders, expressed gratitude to the government for its continued support. They noted that the new office complexes would improve accessibility and operational efficiency in the northern and middle belts of the country.
The ceremonies concluded with guided tours of the facilities and interactions between staff, stakeholders, and invited guests.
