NSA Releases Postings for 18,617 Nurses and Midwives for 2026/27 Service Year

The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially released postings for 18,617 eligible nurses and midwives to undertake their national service for the 2026/2027 service year.

According to a press statement issued by the Authority, the postings cover candidates who successfully passed the August/September 2025 Licensure Examination (major season) conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

The NSA has directed all qualified nurses and midwives to visit its official website, www.nss.gov.gh, access the portal, check their respective places of posting, and complete the required regional validation process.

The Authority announced that the national service period for the posted personnel will commence on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The regional validation exercise began on Monday, June 22, 2026, and will end on Friday, July 10, 2026.

The NSA further reminded the public that under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), every qualified Ghanaian graduate who has completed a tertiary programme is required to undertake national service unless exempted by law.

The Authority also cautioned employers against engaging individuals who are required to undertake national service but have failed to do so, stating that employers who violate this provision may be subjected to an administrative penalty of five thousand penalty units.

The NSA encouraged all affected nurses and midwives to complete their validation process within the stipulated period to avoid any inconvenience.
