GES Releases Funds for Perishable Food Items to SHS 2 and SHS 3 Schools
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the release of funds for the payment of perishable food items for Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) across the country.
In a letter dated July 15, 2026 and addressed to all Regional Directors of Education, GES stated that funds covering the period from March 1, 2026 to September 4, 2026 for SHS 2 and SHS 3 students have been transferred into the accounts of the various Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools.
The Service has directed Regional Directors to inform all heads of SHSs and SHTSs to confirm receipt of the funds and ensure they submit official receipts through their Regional Accountants to the Director-General of GES.
GES Management expressed confidence in the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of the payment process, which is expected to support the uninterrupted supply of perishable food items for students under the Free SHS programme.
