Training Too Hard; Immigration Newly Recruit Reportedly Tries to Escape Camp in Assin Foso (Watch Video)
Drama reportedly unfolded at the Ghana Immigration Service training school in Assin Foso after a newly recruited officer allegedly attempted to flee the training camp.
A video circulating widely on social media shows the young recruit running along a dusty road while apparently trying to escape from the training grounds.
According to reports, the recruit was struggling to cope with the demanding and highly disciplined nature of the immigration training. He reportedly decided to abandon the programme and make a run for it.
However, his attempted escape was short-lived.
A senior immigration officer was seen pursuing the recruit and eventually catching up with him. The officer then escorted the exhausted recruit back towards the training camp as people nearby watched and shouted.
The incident has since generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users have found the situation humorous, others have expressed sympathy for the recruit, noting that military-style security training can be physically and mentally demanding.
One social media user commented: “This is not SHS. If you can't stand the training, you shouldn't have joined.”
Others, however, argued that the incident highlights the intensity of security-service training and that recruits must be prepared for the physical and mental challenges involved.
The Ghana Immigration Service has not yet officially commented on the reported incident or the video.
