UCC Postpones 2026 Sandwich Students’ Matriculation Indefinitely

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has indefinitely postponed the matriculation ceremony for its 2026 Sandwich students, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

According to a statement signed by the University Registrar, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, the postponement is due to the ongoing industrial action by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA).

The University explained that the strike has affected critical administrative processes necessary for organising the matriculation ceremony.

“Management regrets any inconvenience this postponement may cause affected students, their families, and staff,” the statement said.

UCC assured students and the wider university community that a new date for the matriculation ceremony would be announced once normal administrative activities resume.

The postponement affects all 2026 Sandwich students who were scheduled to be formally matriculated on Saturday.

Management has expressed appreciation to students, staff, families, and other stakeholders for their cooperation and understanding during the period.

Students are therefore advised to await further communication from the University regarding the new date for the matriculation ceremony.
