Former NASPA President Hamidu Apandago Mahamadu urges more action beyond the NSS "No ID, No Pay" policy to address the ghost names
National Services Scheme headcount initiative by the financial Minister: The director general of the National Services Authority, Felix Gyamfi, recently announced that the NSS "No ID, No Pay" Policy aim to curb ghost names in the system.
In a bold move to enhance transparency and accountability, the National Service Scheme (NSS) has introduced a strict new directive under the banner "No ID, No Pay." The policy mandates that all Service Personnel must present valid identification before receiving their monthly allowances, a measure aimed at eliminating ghost names from the NSS payroll system.
The directive has sparked widespread conversation among stakeholders, including a comments from a former National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) President.
In a statement, the former NASPA President, Hamidu Apandago Mahamadu, praised the policy’s intent, but he also urged that its implementation must take more action and beyond.
He said, I don't think that is the sole measure that can control it. If they want to solve that problem, they have to go beyond that to control the situation.
He, however, urges prospective personnel to get their Ghana Card.
