Zebilla MP, Alumire Ndebilla, Calls On Education Minister: "Our Children Deserve Better Classrooms"
The Member of Parliament for Zebilla, Alumire Ndebilla, has made a strong appeal to Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, calling for the swift completion of the stalled E-Block and Home Economics block at Zebilla Senior High School.
Speaking during a visit to the school, Ndebilla lamented the delays and emphasizing their negative impact on both teaching and learning.
“ The E-Block has been left unfinished for too long. Our students need proper classrooms to learn, and this delay is affecting their education,” he said.
He further stressed the importance of the Home Economics block, describing it as vital for practical skills development. “Students cannot be fully prepared for life after school if they do not have access to the necessary facilities to practice and learn these skills,” Ndebilla explained.
The MP also drew attention to the frustrations of both students and teachers, highlighting how the absence of adequate classrooms has disrupted lessons. “Teachers are struggling to deliver lessons effectively because they do not have the right classrooms or facilities. Completing these blocks will not only help students learn better but will also motivate teachers to give their best,” he added.
Linking the issue to Ghana’s broader education policy, Ndebilla argued that finishing the projects would demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure nationwide. “Investing in our schools is investing in our future. If we ensure that students have the right learning environment, we are preparing a generation that can contribute meaningfully to society,” he said.
He urged the Education Minister to personally monitor progress to ensure accountability and timely delivery. “We are counting on the Ministry of Education to ensure that these blocks are completed. It is not just about bricks and mortar; it is about giving our children a fair chance to succeed,” Ndebilla stressed.
Students and teachers at Zebilla SHS welcomed the intervention, expressing renewed hope that the long-awaited projects would finally be completed. Many said the MP’s call has rekindled optimism after years of stalled progress.
