Four-Storey Building Collapse in Accra NewTown Leaves Several Feared Trapped
A four-storey building has collapsed in Accra New Town, near GCB Bank, leaving several people feared trapped beneath the rubble.
The incident occurred along the stretch from Kwame Nkrumah Circle towards New Town, just beyond the bank.
The structure, believed to have been used as a school, reportedly caved in under circumstances that are yet to be determined.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have been deployed to the scene and are currently leading search and rescue operations to reach those trapped.
Eyewitnesses say the collapse happened suddenly, triggering panic as residents and passersby rushed to help before emergency responders arrived.
Rescue efforts remain ongoing, with authorities yet to confirm the number of people involved or any casualties.
