Part of Accra Flooded as Heavy downpour Sweep Across Ghana
A heavy downpour swept across large parts of Ghana in the early hours of Sunday, beginning around 3:30 a.m. and continuing into the morning, in line with earlier forecasts by the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet).
The persistent and intense rainfall affected several regions, with low-lying areas in Greater Accra Region, Ashanti Region, and Central Region experiencing significant waterlogging and localized flooding.
GMet had earlier warned of heavy rainfall over the weekend and urged residents to take necessary precautions.
As of the time of this report, rains were still ongoing in parts of the country. However, no official reports of casualties or major property damage have been recorded so far.
